Looking Up
Good morning,
Today’s feature article was written in 2004 as the result of quite a few readers begging me for confirmation that “the peacemaker” was coming soon. We all love the idea of a cosmic savior coming to heal our planet and to bring love and light to our world. The answer that I was given during my own meditations didn’t say, “no” but it didn’t exactly say, “yes” either. It just gave us all a personal challenge to keep us busy while we wait.
take care,
Skye Thomas

“The pacifist's task today is to find a method of helping and healing which provides

Feature Article of the Week:
The Coming of the Peace Maker
I was asked a few months ago if my spirit guides had said anything about the coming of the Peace Maker. I told her I would ask them and see what I could find out for her. This was long before the 2004 Presidential Elections here in the U.S. The answer I got was not what most people probably want to hear, so I have been sitting on this one for months. One of the most difficult aspects of my job is presenting concepts that on the surface may seem uncomfortable, bizarre, or even wrong in a way that upon deeper reflection the reader can see that it all makes sense in the big cosmic game of life. This is one of those moments. Are the angels preparing us for the coming of the Peace Maker? No, not exactly.
Never at any time during any of my prayers or meditations have I ever been told that Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, or any other ‘savior’ was coming. That does not necessarily mean that they are not going to come either. One of the things I have learned about angels and spirit guides is that a lack of a definite ‘yes’ does not necessarily equate as a ‘no.’ So for those of you who believe in a ‘savior’ prophecy, I am not telling you that it will not happen. I asked for the specific phrase “Peace Maker” and to that I got a definite ‘no.’
What I was shown was an endless string of faces one after another. I was shown Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Buddha, Martin Luther King Jr, the Dali Lama, Jesus, Albert Einstein, and many others. Some were famous and I recognized them, others were complete strangers to me. I immediately realized that the Peace Maker had come many times as many different people. Never in history have we not had a Peace Maker. Hundreds, thousands, millions of people all over the world at any given time are taking on the role of the Peace Maker. Then I was reminded of the message given to me during my Cancer scare of 2003, “Stop searching for rainbows… be the rainbow.” I heard a bit of a giggle as they said, “Stop searching for the Peace Maker… be the Peace Maker.”
The reason I mentioned the 2004 Presidential Election is because a lot of folks believe that one or the other of the candidates was somehow capable of bringing peace to the planet. It’s simply not true. No one person can be the one and only Peace Maker. Mankind as a species is wired for aggression and territorial battles. It is in the core of who we are to bicker over which scrap of land belongs to whom, which form of religion is the only correct one, and which color of skin is superior to the others. That is the nature of the planet Earth experience. The game was designed that way. Take beautiful lighthearted beings, drop them into violent hairless monkey bodies, and watch them fight the internal battle between good and evil.
That internal battle between being peaceful and compassionate versus being selfish and uncompromising is the root of all religions. Along with that goes some form of karma, the Golden Rule, or ‘What Comes Around Goes Around’ concept. There is a cause and effect game between being nice to people and being a jerk. Some religions say that you will face it here on the planet as a form of karma, others say you will experience it as a judgment day after you pass over. The basics is always the same, you had better be nice… or else.
Those of you reading this article are most likely peace loving gentle souls who wish that there were more people like you in the world. Why else would the question even be asked? There are a lot of people in the world of all religions, colors, and races that actually enjoy the aggressive battles. It is a sign of their superiority as a community, nation, or country if they can force others to do things their way. The ‘live and let live’ concept is something to be laughed at in their opinion. You naturally are not going to wage war against them to demand a peaceful existence for yourself, because war does not create peace and you know that. A Peace Maker implies an all powerful being or person who will force peace upon the world. The nature of peace is that it has to come from the individual’s soul, not from a higher source that dictates it. Also, know in your deepest heart that there are a lot of people in the world of all religions, colors, and races that actually enjoy the harmonious unity of connecting with others.
The angels and spirit guides were quick and happy to respond to the question. They want us to be the Peace Makers. The creative force designed the game to be a battle between love and fear. To take away the negative elements and have it be all love all the time defeats the purpose of the entire experience. That is the lesson of humanity, each of us is to learn how to be a Peace Maker and allow others to do the same. We are to find peace within our own thoughts, hearts, and souls.
Upon finding it, role model it for your children. Teach peace, share peace, know peace is all around you woven throughout the fabric of humanity’s heartstrings, and be peace. Do not wait for someone else to come along and create peace for you. Do not expect a warrior of peace to fight a battle against evil and win peace for you. Peace can only be found within your own heart. Nobody, not even God can put it there for you. You have to realize that it was always there all along simply waiting for you to find your way.
Stop searching for the Peace Maker… be the Peace Maker.
