The Guiding Star

Hello everyone,

Uranus is leaving Pisces and entering Aries this month.  He made a short preview visit into Aries last year, but this time he is settling in for the long haul.  

Once Uranus moves into Aries, he can have some fun.  Aries is innovative, entrepreneurial, competitive, and loves being the first one to come up with a new idea.  Uranus is in love with new technology, teamwork, being unique while being part of something bigger than one's self, and a brainstorming genius.  Both are extroverted, social, and stubborn.  Both are clever, fast, and pride themselves on their uniqueness.  

Globally, we will probably see the Internet and new technology take off like crazy.  It will be interesting to see how the planet of teamwork and brotherly love affects the world while in the zodiac sign of warriors and "me first!"  Does "me" or "we" prevail?  It looks like the concepts of "we the people" and self-governance are going to be powerful themes over the next few years.

Aries – March 21 through April 20

2011 is going to be an excellent year for Aries.  Jupiter (good luck) entered your zodiac sign back in January and now this month, Uranus enters Aries too.  Jupiter will only be in your sign for a few more months, but Uranus is camping out in Aries for the next few years.  It is an excellent time for blending Uranus's love of friendships, teams, clubs, committees, social networking, and genius with Aries love of innovation, competition, fiery passion, and entrepreneurial endeavors.  This is a wave of strong positive youthful innovative energy that you are quite comfortable with.  You will be one of the few zodiac signs that can ride this wave to new heights.  Just be careful that you do not become too stubborn with all of that personal power, intelligence, and electrifying stamina coming into your life.  Stay charming and fun to hang out with, and amazing things could open up for you over the next few years.

Taurus – April 21 through May 21

You are entering a time over the next few years when things like inner peace, spirituality, compassion, unique authentic self, and mental health matter to you.  Uranus is moving into your twelfth house and promoting the idea that you should be happy without having to sell your soul to society.  For now, it is a quiet inner dialog running through your head.  Almost instantly, you begin to see how difficult it is to balance a path of heart and soul with your hard working and reliable professional nature.  You are no slacker and you are not one to sit around meditating about flowers while everyone else does your share of the work.  So, finding a way to stay in your spiritual oasis AND functioning as a productive member of society is the first lesson you will face on your path to authentic harmony.

Gemini – May 22 through June 21

Your social life, teams, clubs, committees, Internet activities, and networking projects are getting a huge boost of positive energy this month.  Uranus is moving into this area of your life and will stay here for the next few years.  He also rules over these concepts, so he is especially strong and vibrant when focusing on these topics.  Sometimes, your social life and obligations to team spirit can overwhelm everything else in your life, but at other times, this is where your genius, originality, and creativity will flourish.  You might want to consider careers involving teams, networking, groups, interconnectivity, sciences, and/or the Internet over the next few years.  It might just prove to be extremely interesting and lucky for you.

Cancer – June 22 through July 22

Nobody can say that Cancer does not care about their home, private life, parents, or roommates.  It is at the core of the Cancer personality to take these things very seriously.  Therefore, it can be especially hard on you this month with five of the ten planets passing through your professional goals and success sector promoting the idea that you should focus on your professional dreams and on your life outside of your home.  Someone or something in your home is throwing a wet blanket over your fiery professional passions and it is really tugging at your heart.  Do what you can to create balance between these equally important aspects of your life and do not let anyone make you feel guilty for wanting more than just a house and family.

Leo – July 23 through August 23

You could find that this month you begin to yearn for adventure, broadening your horizons, and/or for a more knowledgeable or open-minded outlook.  You are being encouraged to travel, relocate, sign up for college classes, get involved in political, religious, legal, academic, cultural, or media oriented projects.  Someone or something is trying to convince you to stay safe in your old hometown, old ways of seeing the world, old ways of relating to people that are different.  However, the seeds for exploration and the quest for knowledge that comes this month is lighting a fire in you that will not fizzle out anytime soon.  Uranus is moving into this adventurous and intelligent area of your life and will inspire you to "get involved" for many years.

Virgo – August 24 through September 22

Over most of the last six years, Uranus has been stirring up all kinds of trouble in your marriage, partnerships, and/or competitive relationships.  Many Virgos have gone through divorces or come very close to it.  Partly because Uranus promotes independence and causes you to want a logical, friendly, and freedom oriented marriage; and partly because Uranus made your partners act rebellious, chaotic, and/or eccentric at times.  This was a big lesson about freedom and individuality within a partnership.  Can you both remain your own unique individual selves AND still remain committed to each other and the partnership?  The good news is that Uranus is done with this area of your life and is moving on to focus on your ability to trust and share.  Your sex life and your joint finances, commissions, investments, and other forms of profit sharing are about to get very interesting.

Libra – September 23 through October 23

Uranus is moving into your partnerships sector this month.  A lot of astrologers will tell you that Uranus is all about chaos and independence and therefore he is bad news in the partnership area of the zodiac.  But I take a different view.  Uranus is about social networking, group activities, team spirit, and "all for one and one for all".  Uranus is also about being unique, original, genius, and eccentric.  The idea is to feel like you can be your unique authentic self AND that you are a valuable team player, that you are part of something bigger than yourself without having to stop being the real you.  If your marriage allows you and your spouse to both be "real" and to have a social life outside of the marriage, then you probably won't have any trouble at all with Uranus traveling through this area of your chart.  But if either of you has to pretend that you are something that you are not, if either of you feels smothered, stifled, or repressed, then Uranus is going to force changes.  That is not necessarily a bad thing.

Scorpio – October 24 through November 22

You still have plenty of fun and creative energy flowing through your "happiness" sector, but it is your professional life that is beginning to take center stage.  Uranus, the planet of teamwork, Internet, genius, eccentricities, science, electricity, and originality is moving into your daily work sector.  He will be spending the next few years there trying to help you make progress in your professional life.  He will also demand that you are working in an industry that actually suits you.  If you do not love what you do or at least feel as if you are really good at doing whatever it is that you do, then don't be too surprised if Uranus creates all kinds of chaos and forces you out of that job.  You are meant to be useful AND authentic when Uranus moves through this area of the zodiac.

Sagittarius – November 23 through December 21

Despite financial challenges, grumpy friends, and/or too many social obligations, you are experiencing some very positive and fun energy in your home and private life.  Uranus is moving into your "playtime" sector and will be encouraging you to enjoy life while being your authentic self.  If anyone is too stifling, boring, or bossy, Uranus will add to your already strong ability to say, "No" and walk away.  It is your turn to be happy and if you can earn a living doing something you love or by bringing joy into the lives of others, then you could find Uranus's genius in this area of your life is especially beneficial.  Have fun!

Capricorn – December 22 through January 20

Your home life is bursting with excitement this month.  You could be moving into a new home, entertaining houseguests, launching a home-based business, working on landscaping or home-improvement projects, negotiating real estate deals or rental contracts, house hunting, etc.  Whatever it is, you are feeling really motivated, optimistic, and clever about the situation.  Your career, reputation, or an authority figure is clashing with your home-related activities, but that is not going to change things all that much.  Uranus is entering your "home" sector and will be here for the next few years.  He will be bringing major changes into this area of your life, so consider what it is you would like to see happen with regards to your residential situation and start helping the changes take place rather than fighting against them.

Aquarius – January 21 through February 18

Uranus has spent most of the last six years in your personal wealth and self-worth sector.  At times, he made things chaotic and difficult to predict.  At other times, he gave you incredible genius and brainstorming opportunities.  Since Uranus is your ruling planet, you are very much at home with his electrifying energy.  This month, he leaves your finances for good.  Now he will be focusing on your commercial activities, your relationships within your local community and with your relatives, and how you communicate with others.  This is the area of the zodiac that signifies, "Does my word and a handshake mean anything?"  Are you someone people can relate to?  Can they trust you to keep your word?  Do you say what you mean?  Can you express that Aquarian genius without alienating less intelligent people?  Aquarius and Uranus rule over the Internet and social skills.  I suspect that you will do just fine with your ruling planet in this new area of your life for the next few years.

Pisces – February 19 through March 20

Uranus has spent most of the last six years in Pisces bringing out the genius, rebellion, independence, creativity, and/or eccentricities of your personality.  It was like being hooked up to an electrical outlet - exciting and invigorating, but also chaotic and exhausting.  This month, he finally moves on to begin focusing his energies on your finances.  You will never be the same person that you were before Uranus entered Pisces and jolted you with so much electricity, but that is not necessarily a bad thing either.  You are very much aware now of who you really are and what makes you special and unique.  The rest of us have had to learn how to deal with the real you and we are all better for it.
