Looking Up
Good morning,
I have a new article bouncing around inside my head about what I envision for the year 2010. Since many of you are on vacation right now, I am going to hold off and send it out in next week's newsletter. That will give me more time to write it and give you time to get back into the normal flow of things.
In the meantime, I have decided to re-

As many of you know, the forecasts over the last few months have reflected the negative aspects between various planets that have played a role in the economic, political, cultural, and societal challenges that we have been dealing with globally. Some of you have written to us stating that you are tired of hearing all of the bad news and that you could really use something positive to focus your attention on, something to help you feel better as we go through this trying time. Therefore, we have decided to create a new version of the horoscopes.
I have always felt that I should tell you when good things are coming so that you
can position yourself to take advantage of as much of that goodness as you can. And
that I should also tell you the truth about the bad things coming so that you can
brace yourself and plan accordingly. I still believe in that philosophy even though
we are going through challenging times at the moment. Therefore, I will still write

The celestial bodies are the cause of all that takes place in the sublunar world.

Feature Article of the Week:
2008 -
2008 will be a year of profound change. Not just because we will elect a new president and could thereby make a statement to the rest of the world about what it is that we really believe as Americans, but also because it is time for yet another astrological shift.
Back in 1965, '66, and part of '67, Pluto and Uranus were teamed up together in Virgo.
Saturn was on the opposite side of the zodiac wheel opposing both of them. As many
of the Baby Boomers know, this was a time of great importance for their generation.
This is when they became "adults" and wanted their voices heard. From a global
perspective, Uranus represents rebellion, chaos, but also teamwork, connectivity,
science, networking, and the Internet. Pluto represents passion, sexual fidelity,
trust, and seeking the truth. Together, these two represented the Baby Boomers'
view of themselves and the changes they wanted to make -
In 2007 and 2008, Uranus is passing back and forth over that spot where Saturn was.
And in 2008, Saturn is passing back and forth over that spot where Pluto and Uranus
were. We have a yin-
Now, Pluto has been much slower than Saturn and Uranus. He has not traveled nearly so far. However, he still plays a role in this transitional year. He is leaving Sagittarius and moving into Capricorn this year. Pluto takes anywhere from 13 to 32 years to pass through a zodiac sign. While in Virgo (in the '60's), he focused our passion and truth seeking on medicine (birth control pills), usefulness (computers), and other Virgo topics. Then he passed through Libra and people wanted peace, love, and justice. Then he passed through Scorpio and the age of sex, drugs, and rock and roll really came into it's own. Then he moved into Sagittarius and we began to look at exploring the world around us. We began to study other people's religions, laws, universities, and the common man traveled like never before. Book sales, exotic travel packages, new age religions, and studying abroad all became quite popular.
So now what happens as Pluto leaves these loving, sexual, and open-
I don't see it that way. I see it as a time to become passionate leaders. A time to take what we have learned and to create new systems that will serve us better. It is a time to look at ourselves honestly and if we are not being real leaders worthy of respect and admiration, then we need to get to work fixing ourselves and doing whatever it takes to become worthy of leadership roles. Yes, playtime is over, but we all knew that things were falling apart and that at some time we will need to clean up after the party. Clean up our planet, clean up our legal systems, clean up our schools, clean up our churches, clean up our dysfunctional families, clean up our political systems, and clean up our attitudes. It's time to roll up our sleeves and get to work creating the positive changes we have all been talking about but not really doing anything about. With Capricorn's sense of responsibility to the community and Pluto's passion, we have the perfect energy for making big changes that bring real peace, real justice, and real love into people's lives.
Saturn and Uranus will trigger their yin-
Will Hillary win since she is a Scorpio ruled by Pluto? Or will Barack win because he is representative of a new generation coming into their own? I cannot say. What I can say is that I am not at all surprised that both are in the race playing the roles they are playing. They could both lose and that would not reduce how important they were in changing the way we look at who is capable of becoming president of this country. The times, they are a changin'.

2009 -
On and off over the last couple of years, I have written an article around New Years Day setting my intentions for the next year. I try to look at the social, economic, political, and/or spiritual place that we are in and then try to identify what it is that we need to fix, heal, resolve, inspire, or change things for the better. Some years, I did not write about it, but quietly shared the idea with friends who might help me pray or set the intentions for the coming year. For 2004, I wrote "Another Trip Around the Sun." In 2005, I asked close friends to pray for the media to start doing their job and to again begin reporting the news and to not simply report what the corporations that own the media tell them to report. And in 2006, I asked that "truth" be told, accepted, and/or faced. We needed to see the truth, admit the truth, and deal with the truth. For 2007, I wrote "The Dawning" and for 2008, "The Age of Reason." And so it is that this year, I find myself wondering... what now?
What now, that we have a new administration coming into office? What now, that a
new generation is beginning to voice its desire to be taken seriously? What now,
that our economy is in a downward spiral? What now, that the Baby Boomers are facing
retirement while their savings has been wiped out or maybe they never got around
to really saving anything? What now, that there is no way that Social Security is
going to cover all of their needs and allow those of us post-
Earplugs and Resolve. Yes, that is what I will pray for this year.
Give us earplugs so that we do not have to listen to the whiners complain about how bad things have gotten. Many of us saw it coming and were ignored.
Give us earplugs so we do not have to listen to people whine about how an atmosphere of brotherhood and caring about others is somehow a hellish road to socialism and communistic slavery.
Give us earplugs so we do not have to hear young people who have been spoiled by
well-
Give us earplugs as those who think that Obama's election day will magically fix everything; come to realize that he meant it when he said he did not have all of the answers but that TOGETHER we can change the world.
Give us earplugs as the greedy come to realize that they will indeed be paying their fair share and yes, that means more than a lot of people who were previously disadvantaged during those years when they enjoyed deregulation.
Give us earplugs so we do not have to listen to all of those "I told you so" statements that will come.
And resolve. Give us the resolve to continue facing reality.
Give us the resolve to keep our sense of brotherhood even when our brothers and sisters are whining and complaining.
Give us resolve to keep working even when we are tired and progress seems so slow.
Give us the resolve to accept change, even when we are uncomfortable with the idea. Give us the resolve to continually monitor our definition of "change" and make sure that is still moving us in the right direction.
Give us the resolve to put our long-
Give us the resolve to be willing to listen to differing points of view but to also make sure that when we get our turn to speak, that we offer more than complaints and judgments.
Give us the resolve to create new options, new choices, new opportunities, new outlooks, and new ways of solving problems. And give us the resolve NOT to repeat old ways that no longer work, even if they used to work just fine.
I don't want to hear the liars, the cheats, the greedy, or the false promises. I don't want to hear about how the little guy has to give and give and give in the name of patriotism and the leaders don't even have to follow the rules.
I don't want to hear that there are no repercussions for bad behaviors and no rewards for good deeds.
I don't want to hear our children being told that we did not do what was needed to ensure their world was a good place, because we were more into taking safe tiny steps than taking risks, being brave, and putting future generations' ahead of our own small and fearful hearts.
I don't want to hear about how "someday" we will get around to "doing the right thing."
I don't want to hear people calling me naïve just because I still believe in the American Dream and that 'united we stand and divided we fall.'
I do not want to give up, quit, postpone, or reschedule the part of rebuilding our country that is mine to do.
I want the resolve to make sure that in 2009, I contribute something to this world that in some way helps to heal, inspire, change, fix, or mend that which is warn out, broken, misunderstood, or under appreciated.
Like the rest of this "movement" that has grown over the last few years, I will be there, with my sleeves rolled up and working hard to make a difference. I will help to clean up and brighten my little corner of the world.
Just give me earplugs and resolve.
